Wednesday of the Third week of Lent (March 14, 2012)
Liturgical Year B, Cycle II
Readings for Mass
First Reading:
Deuteronomy 4: 1, 5-9
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 147: 12-13, 15-16, 19-20
Gospel: Matthew 5: 17-19
Truly, we are privileged to be under the laws of God. Even
on this day; He continues to teach us His ordinances through His holy word and
through the Church.
Those for whom, the ordinances of God have not been revealed
live in the dark. They do not know when they are pleasing God, or when they are
doing against His will.
But to those whom these ordinances have been made, they live
in the light. They know where and how to step, along the way of life.
And that’s exactly what Christ is talking about in the
Gospel when he points out, that whoever obeys and teaches God’s commandments will
be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. It’s that apparent.
