Christ restores life |
Significantly,
the number 12 represents Divine authority as well as appointment. It also represents
government foundation and perfection: The number symbolizes completeness.
Picture
this:
- The 12 Patriarch, including; Shem, Arphaxad, Salah, Heber, Peleg, Reu, Serug, Nahor, Terah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
- The 12 sons of Israel
- The age 12, when Jesus first appeared in public
- The 12 Legions of Angels
And in today’s Gospel, we encounter
Christ healing a woman who was suffering from hemorrhage for 12 years.
Matthew’s account about the dead
official’s daughter doesn’t mention it; But the Gospel of Mark is particular
about this story to the point of her age. ‘She was twelve
years old,’ he tells us in Mark 5: 42.
God
is telling you today, that at His own appointed time; that He is coming to give
you restoration.
At
God’s appointed time, He will espouse you; He will betroth you to Himself; to
His righteousness; to His justice; to His love; to his mercies; to His compassion!
