The Roman Catholic Church marked the Feast of Christ the King on November 25, with an emphasis on the importance of a more reinvigorated faith.

This day that marked the end of Year B of the Church and the onset of year C was marked with pomp and colour at the Benedictine Monastery - Bible on the Ground, Nanyuki.

“During this year of Faith, we are called upon to deepen our relationship with God; to grow much deeper in our faith,” noted Fr Cyril in his Homily.

“It is important that we avoid falling out of our faith in search of other misleading doctrines. A Christians who back-tracts in faith is worse than a pagan, since as Christian, you will be rebelling against what you already know,” Said the Priest.

He called upon Christians to allow Christ to become the King of their hearts, noting that Christ did not come on earth in order to reign over geographical monarchs.

“Rather, Christ is interested in being the King of our hearts; but in order for that to happen, we must allow Him to,” said Fr Cyril.

The Bible on the Ground, which is located about 210kms from Nairobi Town, off Nyeri-Nanyuki Road is one of the most tranquil places, popular for retreats by Roman Catholic faithful in Kenya and beyond.
